Dust and other pollutants on the glass surface of solar panels are one of the key factors affecting the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) power plants, leading to a decrease in energy output and cost-effectiveness. The Dust Sensor for Solar Panel is specially designed for monitoring the impact of dust and pollutants on the power generation efficiency of solar panels. Utilizing innovative blue light pollution measurement technology, this device is easy to install on both newly built and existing PV arrays, seamlessly integrating into the plant management system. The sensor continuously measures the surface pollution ratio (SR) of the panel glass, real-time calculating the reduction in sunlight reaching the PV module. This enables maintenance personnel to stay informed about the accumulation of pollutants, optimize cleaning schedules, and ensure efficient plant operation.

The device is installed on the frame of the PV panel, continuously measuring the pollution ratio on the glass surface to calculate the reduction of sunlight reaching the solar module. By measuring the pollution ratio (SR), the device can provide real-time data on the loss of power generation. This allows maintenance personnel to clearly identify when pollutants reach a critical threshold and trigger cleaning procedures promptly. The product requires no maintenance, and only needs cleaning of the sensor in the same way as cleaning the surrounding components.

 Dust Sensor Usage and Precautions

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the Dust Sensor for Solar Panels, please follow the steps below: 

1. Install the Device: Use dedicated clamps to install the sensor on the top or side of the PV panel, ensuring that it is level with the panel surface.

2. Connect the Cables: Once installed, connect the RS485 communication cable and the DC 12V power cable.

3. Calibrate the Device: Perform calibration between 12:00 and 14:00 on a sunny day. Wipe the sensor's lens clean, press and hold the calibration button for 10 seconds, and release it to complete the calibration.

4. Cleaning Maintenance: Clean the two sensor probes of the monitoring device every time you clean the PV modules to maintain measurement accuracy. 

Precautions:

- Ensure that the device is installed flush with the PV panel surface to avoid measurement deviation.

- Use soft, lint-free cloth when calibrating and cleaning to avoid scratching the sensor lens.

- Regularly check cable connections to ensure stable communication and power supply.
