Temp & Humidity Sensors
NiuBoL provides temperature and humidity sensors for atmospheric monitoring, automatic weather stations, greenhouses, warehouses, industrial environments, building monitoring and agricultural applications.
The product range includes air temperature and relative humidity sensors, combined temperature-humidity-pressure sensors, wall-mounted transmitters, sensors with local displays, photovoltaic module temperature sensors and crop or leaf microclimate sensors. The correct product depends on what needs to be measured and where the sensing point is installed.
Depending on the selected model, local signal options can include RS485 Modbus, 4–20mA or other outputs. Remote 4G, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN communication normally requires a compatible data logger, RTU or IoT gateway rather than being provided directly by the basic sensor.

Leaf Temperature and Humidity Sensor For Smart Agriculture
Temperature and humidity sensors should be selected according to the actual measured object. Outdoor atmospheric temperature is different from photovoltaic module surface temperature, while room humidity monitoring has different installation requirements from a weather-station sensor exposed to outdoor airflow.
| Application | Typical Sensor | Selection Focus |
| Automatic Weather Station | Outdoor Air Temperature & Humidity Sensor | Representative airflow, radiation protection and outdoor installation |
| Weather / Environmental Monitoring | Temperature, Humidity & Pressure Sensor | Multiple atmospheric parameters from one measurement point |
| Warehouse / Building | Wall-Mounted Temperature & Humidity Sensor | Indoor installation, local environmental monitoring and control-system integration |
| Local Display Requirement | Temperature & Humidity Transmitter with Display | Local reading plus signal output to monitoring or control equipment |
| Solar PV Monitoring | Photovoltaic Module Temperature Sensor | Direct module-surface temperature measurement rather than ambient air temperature |
| Greenhouse / Crop Monitoring | Air or Leaf / Crop Microclimate Sensor | Select according to whether the project needs ambient conditions or crop-surface conditions |
Air temperature and surface temperature are different measurements and should not be treated as interchangeable. An atmospheric sensor measures the surrounding air, while a surface-contact temperature sensor measures the temperature of a specific object such as a photovoltaic module.
| Measurement | Installation | Typical Use |
| Ambient Air Temperature | Exposed to representative airflow and normally protected from direct solar radiation | Weather, greenhouse and environmental monitoring |
| Surface Temperature | Sensor attached to or in direct thermal contact with the measured surface | PV modules, equipment surfaces and process monitoring |
Outdoor air-temperature and humidity measurement requires more than simply placing a sensor outside. Direct solar radiation, nearby surfaces, poor airflow and heat sources can introduce measurement errors.
For meteorological applications, the sensing element should normally be installed where it can sample representative ambient air while being protected from direct radiation and precipitation by a suitable radiation shield or weather-protected structure.
Avoid mounting the sensor immediately beside walls, exhaust outlets, air-conditioning condensers, hot roofs or other surfaces that do not represent the target ambient environment.
When temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure are required at the same location, a combined three-parameter sensor can simplify installation and cabling compared with using separate instruments.
These combined sensors are useful for automatic weather stations, agricultural monitoring, environmental systems and other projects where several atmospheric parameters need to be collected by the same data logger.
The output interface should be selected according to the receiving PLC, controller, RTU or data logger. Output availability varies by sensor model.
| Output | Typical Connection | Typical Use |
| RS485 Modbus | PLC / RTU / Data Logger / IoT Gateway | Digital multi-sensor monitoring and remote data-acquisition systems |
| 4–20mA | PLC Analog Input / Controller | Industrial process, building and conventional analog-control systems |
Temperature and humidity sensors provide local measurement signals. Remote cellular, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN communication normally requires a compatible data logger, RTU or IoT gateway.
Temperature / Humidity Sensor → RS485 / 4–20mA → Data Logger / RTU / PLC → 4G / Ethernet / Wi-Fi / LoRaWAN → Cloud Platform or Private Server
This architecture allows the same type of sensor to be integrated into local PLC systems, automatic weather stations, greenhouse monitoring networks or remote environmental IoT projects without implying that every sensor contains its own wireless modem.
Temperature and humidity sensors are used across meteorological, agricultural, industrial and building-monitoring projects, but the sensor structure and installation method should match the application.

For complete meteorological systems, see the automatic weather station selection page. For greenhouse sensor combinations, see the greenhouse sensor selection guide.
For correct product selection, first confirm what needs to be measured and how the sensor will be installed. Interface and communication requirements should be considered after the measurement point is defined.
| Selection Item | Information to Provide |
| Measured Parameter | Temperature only, temperature + humidity, or temperature + humidity + pressure |
| Measured Object | Ambient air, indoor room, greenhouse, equipment surface, PV module or crop / leaf environment |
| Measurement Range | Minimum and maximum expected temperature and humidity conditions |
| Output Interface | RS485 Modbus, 4–20mA or other required signal |
| Installation | Radiation shield, wall mounting, probe installation, enclosure or surface contact |
| Cable Length | Required distance from the sensing point to the controller, logger or cabinet |
| Receiving System | PLC, RTU, data logger, local display, IoT gateway, cloud platform or private server |
| Quantity | Sample, pilot site or project quantity |
A1. A temperature sensor measures temperature only, while a combined temperature-humidity sensor measures both temperature and relative humidity at the same location.
A2. The measurement principles and installation methods are different. Ambient air temperature requires representative airflow and radiation protection, while PV module temperature requires suitable thermal contact with the module surface.
A3. A radiation shield helps reduce measurement errors caused by direct solar heating and precipitation while allowing ambient air to reach the sensing element.
A4. Selected NiuBoL models support RS485 Modbus. Other output configurations such as 4–20mA may also be available depending on the selected sensor.
A5. Basic wired sensors normally provide local outputs such as RS485 or analog signals. Remote 4G, Ethernet, Wi-Fi or LoRaWAN communication typically requires a compatible data logger or gateway.
A6. Multiple compatible RS485 Modbus sensors can share a properly designed bus when each device has a unique address and the power supply, wiring topology and polling configuration are suitable.
A7. Yes. A compatible data logger or IoT gateway can collect the sensor signal and transmit measurements to a cloud platform, SCADA system or private server using supported communication protocols.
A8. Provide the required parameters, measurement range, application, installation method, output interface, cable length, quantity and the PLC, controller, data logger or gateway that will receive the sensor data.
For product selection and quotation, provide the required parameters, measured object, expected temperature and humidity range, installation method, output signal, cable length, quantity and receiving PLC / RTU / data logger / gateway.
For complete remote monitoring systems, also specify whether a data logger, 4G communication, LoRaWAN gateway, solar power, cloud platform or private-server integration is required.
