Description: NiuBoL radar water level gauge (Water Level measurement sensor) adopts 77GHz~79GHz millimeter wave FMCW frequency modulated continuous wave technology to achieve non-contact precise liquid level monitoring. Maximum range up to 65m, blind zone less than 15cm, measurement accuracy up to ±1mm, suitable for rivers, reservoirs, channels, sewage pools, rainwater monitoring and various hydrological scenarios.

NiuBoL radar water level gauge is a high-performance non-contact water level measurement device based on self-developed CMOS millimeter wave RF chip. It utilizes frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) technology in the 77GHz~79GHz band, transmitting millimeter waves and receiving reflected echoes from the water surface to calculate distance, thereby achieving water level height measurement.
Compared with traditional drop-in or ultrasonic water level gauges, radar water level gauges are not affected by water surface foam, floating objects, temperature changes, fog, or strong winds, making them particularly suitable for complex hydrological environments in outdoor long-term unattended operation. The product features an integrated lens antenna design, compact and small overall structure, and can be quickly installed on the company's hydrological and rainfall monitoring poles or hosts using dedicated nut fixing method to form a complete monitoring system.
This series of products has been widely used in hydrological monitoring by water resources departments, urban flooding warning, sewage treatment plant level control, agricultural irrigation channels, reservoir dam safety monitoring and other fields, providing stable and reliable data support for water resource management and flood control and disaster reduction.

NiuBoL radar water level gauge has undergone multiple optimizations in millimeter wave radar technology, bringing significant performance improvements.
First, the self-developed CMOS millimeter wave RF chip achieves a more compact RF architecture and higher signal-to-noise ratio. This allows the device to obtain clearer echo signals at the same transmit power, significantly reducing the measurement blind zone to within 15cm, suitable for close-range water level monitoring.
Second, the wide operating bandwidth gives the product higher distance resolution and measurement accuracy. Under standard conditions (4m distance, 40%RH, 25℃), the accuracy can stably reach ±1mm, with resolution as fine as 1mm, capable of capturing millimeter-level water level changes.
Third, the narrowest 8° beam angle is another highlight. Narrow beam means more concentrated energy and smaller sidelobe interference. Even when installed at river channels, canals or reservoir edges, it can effectively avoid common reflectors such as bank walls, bridge piers, trees, etc., reducing false echoes and offering higher installation fault tolerance.
In addition, the integrated lens antenna design makes the whole machine compact and lightweight, with IP67 protection rating, capable of reliable long-term operation in outdoor rain, snow, high temperature, and low temperature environments. Power consumption is only 0.6W, suitable for solar-powered or battery-powered remote monitoring stations, significantly reducing overall system energy consumption and maintenance costs.

NiuBoL radar water level gauge is suitable for various water level monitoring needs. The following are several main application areas:
1. Rivers and Hydrological Station Monitoring
Installed on river cross-sections or hydrological station poles to collect real-time water level data, supporting flood warning and dry season flow calculation. The narrow beam and anti-interference capability enable stable readings even in curved river channels and riverbanks with dense vegetation.
2. Reservoir and Dam Safety Monitoring
Used for reservoir area water level and spillway water level monitoring. Millimeter-level accuracy helps accurately track storage changes and assists in reservoir dispatching and safety assessment.
3. Urban Flooding and Drainage Network Monitoring
Deployed at flood-prone points, pump station sumps, drainage culverts, etc., integrated with IoT platforms for real-time alarming and linked pumping, contributing to smart city construction.
4. Sewage Treatment and Industrial Level Control
Replaces traditional float or drop-in sensors in aeration tanks, regulating tanks, sludge tanks, etc., avoiding pollution and scaling issues from contact measurement and improving system reliability.
5. Agricultural Irrigation Channels and Farmland Water Level Monitoring
Monitors channel and field water levels, supporting precision irrigation and water-saving agriculture. Low power consumption is ideal for remote field solar-powered stations.
In these scenarios, the non-contact measurement method of radar water level gauges significantly reduces maintenance frequency, minimizes failures due to sensor contamination, and offers higher cost-effectiveness and longer service life overall.
By choosing NiuBoL radar water level gauge, users can obtain the following practical values:
More Precise Data: Millimeter-level resolution and accuracy provide high-quality raw data for hydrological analysis and flood control decisions.
More Hassle-Free Maintenance: Non-contact, no moving mechanical parts, virtually maintenance-free, ideal for unattended stations.
More Reliable System: Strong anti-interference capability, unaffected by water surface fluctuations, foam, floating objects, temperature, or fog, with high data continuity.
More Flexible Deployment: Wide voltage input, narrow beam design, nut fixing method, adaptable to various poles and installation environments.
Lower Energy Consumption: 0.6W ultra-low power consumption, compatible with solar + battery power solutions, reducing long-term operating costs.
Easier Integration: Standard RS485 interface and Modbus protocol compatible with mainstream data collectors, RTUs, PLCs, and IoT platforms.
These advantages collectively help users build more stable and intelligent water level monitoring networks, improving water resource management efficiency and emergency response capabilities.

After unpacking, please confirm the following items are complete:
Radar water level gauge host and fixing nut 1 set
Product certificate and warranty card each 1 copy
The instrument must be installed as perpendicular as possible to the water surface. Tilting will weaken the reflected signal amplitude and affect measurement stability.
Ensure no obvious interference objects (such as riverbanks, bridge piers, branches, metal components, etc.) within the beam range to avoid false echoes.
Recommended installation height should place the blind zone (0-15cm) above the water surface, with the maximum range covering the normal water level variation interval.
Fixing method: Use the nut to securely install on the pole or bracket, ensuring no shaking.
Power supply: DC 10-30V, recommended to use 12V regulated power supply.
Communication: RS485 interface, A to A, B to B, do not reverse.
Communication parameters: Baud rate 9600, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.
When networking multiple devices, each device needs to be set with a unique address to avoid conflicts.
After wiring is complete, it is recommended to power on first to observe if the device responds normally, then connect to the host computer for parameter reading and calibration.

Q1. Why is the radar water level gauge not affected by water surface foam?
Millimeter waves have strong penetration capability against foam and floating objects, and FMCW technology calculates distance based on frequency difference rather than pure amplitude, so foam has minimal interference on measurement.
Q2. What does the 8° beam angle mean during installation?
The 8° beam angle indicates highly concentrated energy with very small sidelobes. As long as near-distance strong reflectors (such as vertical bank walls) are avoided during installation, significant false echoes will basically not occur.
Q3. What host computer software does the device support?
Standard Modbus RTU protocol, compatible with most hydrological and rainfall data collectors, configuration software, and IoT platforms on the market, can be directly connected to NiuBoL hosts or third-party RTUs.
Q4. Will long-term outdoor use cause condensation?
The device operates in -40℃~+80℃ temperature range with IP67 protection and internal anti-condensation design, keeping the optical window clean even in high-humidity environments.
Q5. What to do if within the 15cm blind zone cannot be measured?
In normal design, the blind zone is below the sensor. During installation, place the sensor above the highest water level by 15cm to completely avoid blind zone impact.
