The NBL-L-SMP4603 series general-purpose submersible level transmitter launched by NiuBoL is a highly reliable monitoring device based on the hydrostatic measurement principle.
The sensor uses a high-performance diffused silicon pressure sensor as the measuring element. It senses the hydrostatic pressure generated by the liquid depth (proportional to the depth) and converts it into standard current (4-20mA) or voltage (0-5V/0-10V) signals through a high-precision signal conditioning circuit. This design not only ensures real-time measurement but also greatly enhances the long-distance transmission capability of the signal.

To ensure smooth installation, please strictly follow the following wire color definitions for wiring. NiuBoL uses standardized industrial cables to enhance on-site construction identification.
The two-wire system is the simplest, with signal and power sharing the same loop, suitable for long-distance transmission.
Black wire: Power positive (+V)
Red wire: Signal output (+OUT)
Yellow wire: Ground wire
The three-wire system is typically used for voltage signal acquisition systems.

Note: The air-guide cable provided with the transmitter contains a vent tube. During installation, do not bend or block it, and keep the cable end ventilated and dry to balance the back pressure of the diaphragm with atmospheric pressure.
When selecting, it is recommended that the range should be 10%-20% higher than the actual maximum liquid level. For example, if the pool depth is 8 meters, choose a 0-10 mH₂O range. NiuBoL offers customizable ranges from 1 meter to 200 meters.
Hydrostatic installation: When installing in flowing water (such as rivers or containers with stirrers), it is recommended to place the sensor in a steel pipe for fixation and drill holes at different heights on the pipe to reduce direct impact of water flow on the diaphragm.
Verticality: The sensor should be vertically immersed at the bottom of the liquid to avoid tilt causing static pressure calculation deviation.
Avoid strong magnetic fields: Installation location should be kept away from electromagnetic interference sources such as frequency converters and high-power motors.
Q1: Can NBL-L-SMP4603 measure corrosive liquids?
A1: The wetted materials of this product are 316L stainless steel and fluororubber. As long as the medium is non-corrosive to these two materials (such as fresh water, weak acids and alkalis, fuel, etc.), it can be used with confidence. For highly corrosive liquids, please contact NiuBoL for custom special anti-corrosion coatings.
Q2: Can the cable length be extended? Will it cause signal loss?
A2: Yes. For 4-20mA signals, due to their strong anti-interference capability, transmission distances can reach thousands of meters without significant attenuation. When placing an order, you can customize the dedicated air-guide cable with specific lengths according to on-site needs.
Q3: Why is there a tube inside the sensor cable?
A3: This is the vent tube. Its function is to connect the back of the pressure-sensing diaphragm inside the sensor to the atmosphere, thereby canceling out measurement errors caused by atmospheric pressure changes. During installation, ensure that the end of the vent tube does not get water ingress.
Q4: Does this sensor support digital protocols such as RS485?
A4: NBL-L-SMP4603 is mainly for 4-20mA and voltage-type analog outputs. If you need RS485 (Modbus-RTU) protocol, NiuBoL has other series of digital products available.
