The NBL-W-51GUWS is a fully digital, high-precision 5-in-1 ultrasonic weather sensor capable of rapidly and accurately measuring wind speed, wind direction, atmospheric temperature, humidity, and pressure. Equipped with a built-in signal processing unit, it supports customizable signal outputs and optional integration of PM2.5, PM10, noise, radiation, and rainfall monitoring. Its robust, high-strength design ensures reliable operation in harsh climates, with high integration and durability. It is widely used in meteorology, environmental monitoring, airports, ports, laboratories, agriculture, industry, and transportation.
The sensor measures wind speed and direction using ultrasonic technology, calculating the time difference of ultrasonic waves traveling between North-South (N-S) and East-West (E-W) sensors. For instance, when wind blows from the north, the transmission time from N to S is shorter than from S to N, while E-W times remain equal. This time difference enables precise calculation of wind speed and direction, unaffected by external factors like temperature.

- Connect the sensor to the corresponding interface on the data logger using the provided sensor cable.
- Red: Positive power input
- Black: Negative power input
- Yellow: RS485+
- Blue: RS485-
- Note: Always refer to the wiring labels on the communication cable for accuracy.
1. Positioning:
- Mount the sensor on a vertical pole to ensure measurements are taken at the same horizontal level.
2. Alignment:
- Use a standard compass to determine geographic north and align the sensor’s north marker accordingly.
3. Mounting:
- The mounting pole requires three equally spaced M5 screw holes, positioned 7.5 mm from the top.
- Pass the cable through the pole, ensuring proper strain relief.
- Connect the plug to the sensor by rotating and locking the outer sleeve clockwise.
- Secure the sensor to the pole using three stainless steel screws.
4. Site Selection:
- Install in an open area to avoid airflow obstructions or turbulence caused by buildings, trees, or poles.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters from radar or radio transmission devices.
- Regularly inspect the sensor to ensure it is not interfered with by nearby equipment such as radios, radar, engines, or motors.
- Keep a safe distance from radio receiving antennas.
- Avoid installation near vibration sources.
- Use the recommended cable and ensure proper shielding and connections.
- Ensure continuous power supply during operation.
- Avoid turbulent airflow from nearby structures to maintain measurement accuracy.
