Installation and Wiring

Installation Requirements

  • Use 3/4-inch NPT thread for submerged installation or pipe/tank installation.

  • During installation, the sensor must not be placed upside down or horizontally. It must maintain at least a 15° tilt angle to ensure the electrode membrane head is properly submerged.

Electrical Wiring (Standard 4-core Cable)

  • Red wire: Power positive (12~24VDC)

  • Black wire: Ground (GND)

  • Blue wire: RS-485 A

  • White wire: RS-485 B

After wiring, please carefully check to avoid wiring errors. When the cable is immersed in water (including seawater) for a long time or exposed to air, all wiring points must be waterproofed, and cables with certain corrosion resistance (outer diameter Φ6mm) should be selected. Confirm the wiring is correct before powering on to ensure equipment safety.

NBL-CLI-206A Online Chloride Ion Sensor Maintenance Guide

Before use, remove the electrode head protection cap and avoid touching the sensitive membrane head with fingers. First immerse the electrode front end in deionized water for 10 minutes, then immerse in diluted chloride ion solution for 2 hours to activate. For long-term storage, keep the electrode dry and place it in a protection bottle; before use, it is recommended to soak in tap water for 24 hours. Before testing, check whether the wiring terminals are dry. If there is dirt, wipe with absolute ethanol.

Avoid long-term immersion in distilled water or protein solutions. Do not contact with silicone grease. If measurement error occurs after long-term use, calibrate according to the two-point calibration method (zero point and slope). Use standard solutions for calibration (factory optional 100mg/L and 1000mg/L or 1000mg/L and 10000mg/L standard solutions). If calibration still fails after maintenance, the electrode may have failed and should be replaced.
