1. Application environment description

- Drinking water / Surface water / Various water supplies / Industrial wastewater treatment.

- Signal output: RS-485 (Modbus RTU protocol).

- Convenient connection to PLC, DCS, industrial control computers, general controllers, paperless recorders or touch screens, etc.

- Immersion installation with 3/4 NPT thread, suitable for easy submersible installation or installation in pipelines and tanks.

- Protection level IP68.

- Simultaneous output of conductivity and TDS for 0–20 μS/cm, 0–200 μS/cm.

2. Electrical connection

The cable is a 4-core shielded twisted wire. Wiring definition:

- Red wire — Power supply (12–24 VDC)

- Black wire — Ground (GND)

- Blue wire — 485A

- White wire — 485B

Before powering on, carefully check wiring sequence to avoid unnecessary losses caused by incorrect wiring.

Wiring note: Since the cable will be immersed in water (including seawater) or exposed to air for long periods, all wiring points must be waterproofed, and user cables must have certain corrosion resistance.

3. Maintenance and care of conductivity sensor

3.1 Use and maintenance

Conventional electrodes require periodic cleaning and calibration, with maintenance cycles determined by the customer according to working conditions. Cleaning method for conventional electrodes: use a soft brush to remove deposits (do not scratch the electrode surface), then rinse with distilled water and calibrate afterward.

Cleaning method for inductive electrodes:

- Inductive electrodes generally require no maintenance. Contamination or slight fouling on the outer housing does not affect normal operation.

- If cleaning is required, use a soft brush or sandpaper to remove deposits, then rinse with distilled water and calibrate afterward.

- Since inductive electrodes usually operate in environments prone to scaling or dirt accumulation, stronger cleaning force can be used. Minor scratches on the electrode surface will not affect normal operation, but avoid piercing the electrode housing.

3.2 Calibration

a) Zero calibration:

Rinse the sensor with distilled water and absorb liquid with filter paper. Place the sensor vertically in air and let it stabilize for about 3 minutes, then perform zero calibration. Calibration instructions are in the appendix.

b) Slope calibration:

Place the sensor vertically in a standard solution (20% of full scale to full scale), ensuring the sensor is at least 5 cm from the bottom of the container and 2 cm from the side walls, then perform slope calibration. Calibration instructions are in the appendix.

4. Quality and service

Quality assurance

- The quality control department follows standardized inspection procedures, equipped with advanced and complete testing equipment and methods. Products undergo 72-hour aging and stability tests to ensure non-conforming products are not shipped.
