NiuBoL has completed a shipment of agricultural and weather monitoring sensors to Mexico. The instruments cover conditions above the crop canopy, on a leaf-like surface and below ground—an example of how different measurements can contribute to a more complete picture of the growing environment.
The NBL-W-PRS piezoelectric rain sensor detects the mechanical response created when raindrops strike its sensing surface. It provides rainfall information without relying on the tipping mechanism of a conventional bucket gauge. Rainfall observations help describe precipitation events and provide useful context for water and weather records.
The NBL-W-LM leaf wetness and temperature sensor measures wetness on a simulated leaf surface and the temperature of that surface. It can help users observe dew formation, rainfall residue and wet periods around crops. Wetness duration, together with temperature and other conditions, may be used in crop-disease risk assessment; the sensor itself does not diagnose plant disease.

The NBL-W-HPRS pyranometer measures incoming solar irradiance in W/m², helping document the energy reaching a monitoring site. Solar radiation is an important environmental variable for weather observation and agricultural research.
Two soil measurement approaches are represented in the shipment. The NBL-S-THR uses TDR technology to measure soil moisture and temperature. The NBL-S-TMCS provides temperature, moisture, electrical conductivity (EC) and salinity observations in one probe. Together, these product types illustrate the distinction between tracking soil water conditions and adding salt-related electrical measurements.

Mexico includes dry irrigated regions, orchards, protected growing environments and locations with seasonal heavy rainfall. When monitored together, rainfall, leaf wetness, solar irradiance and soil readings can help describe when conditions change, where the change occurs and what additional observations may be needed.

Contact NiuBoL for product selection and a quotation. Send the parameters you need, your preferred interface (such as RS485), installation environment and whether the instruments must connect to an existing logger or weather station.
