NiuBoL has completed delivery of an NBL-S-TMC-8C portable 8-in-1 soil tester to the United Arab Emirates. The order was for a compact field instrument that could connect directly to a compatible phone or tablet, show several soil readings at a sampling point, and export records without a separate data logger.
For field measurement, the probe connects to a compatible tablet or phone and is inserted into the target soil. The measurement chain includes probe contact, USB interface, mobile application and live display. A spot reading is not a certificate of agronomic suitability; soil condition, insertion method and sampling location still govern how the data should be interpreted.
The order did not require a permanent RS485 network, cabinet or cloud platform. It required a mobile inspection tool. For greenhouse technicians, irrigation contractors and agricultural consultants, that distinction changes the procurement scope. A portable tester can move between beds or pots and can support comparison surveys. A permanently buried sensor is the better choice when a PLC or data logger must poll the same point continuously.
The NBL-S-TMC-8C measures soil temperature, volumetric moisture, electrical conductivity, salinity, available nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium and pH. It uses the connected mobile device for power and data display. The supplied manual specifies Android and HarmonyOS compatibility within the supported versions; iOS is not supported. Buyers should therefore verify the operating system, USB interface and OTG function before placing a repeat order.
| Item | Confirmed supply | Engineering meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Model | NBL-S-TMC-8C | Portable eight-parameter spot-testing package |
| Connection | USB Type-C, Micro USB and USB adapters | Connects to compatible phones or tablets without an external collector |
| Measured parameters | Temperature, moisture, EC, salinity, N, P, K and pH | One insertion provides a common timestamp for all displayed values |
| Data functions | Live display, history, curves and Excel export through the application | Supports field records and later comparison |
| Intended role | Mobile soil inspection | Not the same architecture as a fixed RS485 monitoring node |
A field check produced readings of 28.7 degrees C soil temperature, 8.7% moisture, 51 microS/cm EC, 32 mg/L salinity, pH 6.72 and displayed N, P and K values of 14, 2 and 16 mg/kg. These values apply only to that sampling point and should not be generalized to the whole field from a single insertion.
For repeatable surveys, the operator should define sampling depth, remove large stones, insert the probe fully, wait for the reading to settle and clean the electrodes between locations. Where soil texture changes sharply, compare several points rather than relying on the first result. Moisture and EC are strongly affected by local contact and recent irrigation.
The manual states that the displayed NPK values are empirical values derived from electrical conductivity using conversion factors. They are suitable for relative comparison and trend screening under a controlled sampling method. They are not a substitute for laboratory chemical analysis when a fertilizer prescription, compliance record or contractual acceptance depends on absolute nutrient concentration.
For this type of portable instrument, handover should include a visual probe check, adapter check, application installation, OTG confirmation, one wet-soil reading and one Excel export. This short procedure catches most interface issues before the instrument is taken to multiple sites.
No. The supplied manual identifies supported Android and HarmonyOS versions and states that iOS is not supported. Confirm the exact phone model and operating-system version before ordering.
This NBL-S-TMC-8C order is the portable USB/mobile version. Projects that require continuous PLC, RTU or data-logger polling should select an RS485 soil-sensor model and confirm its Modbus register map.
No. A useful survey uses several representative points at a controlled depth and records irrigation timing, soil texture and recent rainfall. The instrument supplies measurements; the sampling plan makes them comparable.
No. They are EC-derived empirical reference values. Use laboratory analysis when nutrient concentration must support fertilizer dosing, regulation or contractual acceptance.
State the required parameters, phone operating system, connector type, intended sampling frequency, language, export destination and whether an RS485 model is also needed for fixed monitoring.
This shipment to the United Arab Emirates was an application-specific delivery for mobile soil checks. For similar projects, the main selection question is whether the job needs portable comparison testing or continuous networked monitoring. NiuBoL can quote the portable NBL-S-TMC-8C or map a fixed RS485 sensor package when the PLC, data logger, cable distance and power supply are known.
