FAQ – Features & Specifications

Q1: What is the accuracy of the NPK sensor? What is its principle?

A: The NPK sensor measures the electrical conductivity of the soil and calculates the trend values for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium based on empirical coefficients. The accuracy is ±5%. It does not directly measure the actual nutrient content but provides reference values.

Remark:

The Soil NPK sensor actually measures the electrical conductivity of the soil. The manufacturer multiplies the measured conductivity value by a corresponding factor (based on the conventional soil content of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) to arrive at a value for the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content. Due to varying soils and environmental conditions, such sensors cannot accurately measure the actual nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content of the soil at the site, but provide an empirical, theoretical value.

Q2: What is the working principle of the soil sensor?

A:

- Soil moisture: FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry)

- Soil temperature: Thermistor

- Conductivity: Resistance or capacitive measurement of dielectric constant

Q3: What is the accuracy and lifespan of the pH sensor?

A: Accuracy: ±0.1 pH, factory calibrated, no recalibration needed during use. Lifespan: 1–2 years.

Q4: What is the lifespan of the sensor products?

A: Most sensors have a service life of 3–5 years, except for pH sensors (1–2 years).

Q5: What are the operating temperature and protection level of the products?

A:

- NBL-S-TMC: IP68, -40~85°C

- NBL-S-NPK: IP68, -40~85°C

- NBL-S-PH: 0-95% RH

Q6: What interfaces and voltages do your sensors support?

A:

- Common interfaces: RS485, 4-20mA, 0-5V

- Common voltages: DC12-24V, some support DC5V

Q7: Which sensors support DC5V power supply?

A: Wind direction, wind speed, rainfall, radiation, soil temperature and humidity (flat type), Stevenson screen temperature, humidity, pressure, illuminance, NPK.

Q8: Is the NPK sensor suitable for hydroponics?

A: It is not recommended for hydroponics, as ions and metal components in the water may affect the measurement results.

Q9: Are there any specific soil type requirements?

A: There are no strict limitations, but it is not suitable for loose and non-water-soluble media like sandy soil.

Q10: Do you have a carbon content sensor?

A: We do not have a carbon content sensor.
