In the rapidly growing agricultural market of Southeast Asia, Cambodia’s demand for weather and soil monitoring technology continues to rise. Recently, NiuBoL successfully delivered and installed a multi-parameter automatic weather station and soil monitoring system for a Cambodian client. The system is now operating stably, transmitting key environmental data in real time via a cloud platform, providing local farms with scientific decision-making support.

Located in the southwestern part of the Indochina Peninsula, Cambodia has a typical tropical monsoon climate characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and distinct rainy and dry seasons. Agriculture remains a vital part of the national economy, with crops such as rice, rubber, and bananas heavily reliant on precise irrigation and weather monitoring. As modern agriculture accelerates, more farms are adopting intelligent sensor systems to boost yields and resilience against risks.
The equipment procured by the client covers multiple dimensions, including weather monitoring, light environment monitoring, and soil parameter monitoring, enabling comprehensive data collection from the atmosphere to the soil. The system includes:
Real-time monitoring of wind speed changes to provide early warnings for strong winds, protecting crops, greenhouse structures, and irrigation systems.
Accurately records wind direction, used for pesticide application safety assessments, wind disaster warnings, and local weather pattern analysis in combination with wind speed.
Simultaneously monitors air temperature, relative humidity, and atmospheric pressure, providing core meteorological data to assess rainfall trends, evaporation rates, and pest/disease risks.
Records rainfall amount and timing, supporting irrigation scheduling, drainage management, and field water condition analysis. The stainless steel construction is corrosion-resistant and ideal for humid tropical environments.
Measures light intensity to support crop photosynthesis analysis, shade system control, and studies on crop light adaptability.
Simultaneously monitors three key soil parameters:
- Soil Temperature: Influences root growth and microbial activity
- Soil Moisture: Guides irrigation strategies
- EC/Salinity: Evaluates fertilization appropriateness and detects soil salinization risks
Highly suitable for Cambodia’s highly variable seasonal soil conditions.
Monitors soil acidity and alkalinity, helping farms manage soil fertility, adjust fertilization strategies, and prevent yield losses due to pH imbalances.
Measures total solar radiation, used for calculating evapotranspiration (ET), predicting potato yields, energy modeling, and greenhouse light management.

The system is integrated with NiuBoL’s proprietary cloud platform, enabling real-time access to on-site weather data, soil parameters, historical trends, and logs. The platform supports access via mobile phones and computers and allows customizable alerts for high temperature, strong winds, low humidity, and more.
All sensors transmit data stably via local 4G networks. Clients can view the following in real time on computers or mobile devices:
- Real-time wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity, and pressure curves
- Rainfall bar charts and cumulative rainfall
- Historical trends of soil moisture, pH, and EC
- Light and solar radiation distribution by time period
- Automatic alerts for strong winds, heavy rain, low humidity, etc.
The platform also supports data export for farm management reports, fertilization plans, and analytical models.

The successful implementation of this project in Cambodia marks NiuBoL’s official entry into the local market and demonstrates the reliability of our weather and soil monitoring systems in Southeast Asia’s complex climate conditions.
With this integrated monitoring system, local farms can manage irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and overall agricultural production more scientifically, significantly improving operational efficiency and crop yields.
We will continue to provide high-quality sensor equipment and agricultural monitoring solutions to global clients, helping more regions achieve agricultural modernization.
