RS485 sensor data transfer to a server or cloud platform requires a complete path from field sensor to data collector, gateway, network and application protocol. A stable RS485 signal alone does not guarantee usable cloud data.
A typical system reads RS485/Modbus RTU sensor values with a data collector, PLC, RTU or gateway. The gateway then transmits structured data through Ethernet, 4G, WiFi or another available network to a server or cloud platform.
