The same water quality sensor is installed in laboratory cups, rivers, aquaculture tanks and pressure pipes in completely different ways. Proper installation requires both adequate contact of the sensitive surface with the representative water sample and protection of the probe from deposition, bubbles and mechanical shock.
The probe is directly immersed in water and is suitable for rivers, lakes, reservoirs, aquaculture pools and conditioning pools. Installation should avoid extreme localized areas close to pool walls, sediment, and water inlets and outlets, unless these are precisely monitoring targets.
When the water level changes greatly, the probe can be fixed on the float/buoy structure to keep the measured depth stable relative to the water surface. The system should avoid the probe hitting the structure with waves and do stress relief on the cable.
Take a stream of continuous bypass water from the main pipe or water body into the circulation tank, and install the pH, EC, DO, turbidity and other probes centrally. The advantage is that it is easy to clean and easy to calibrate; the disadvantage is that it is necessary to ensure that the sampling flow and the pipeline do not change the tested water sample.
The high-pressure piping cannot be tolerated by default because of the probe IP68. The IP rating describes waterproofing and dustproofing, which is not equivalent to the pressure rating. Online water quality probes such as the NiuBoL NBL-WQ-EC provide threaded installation and a clear pressure range, which should be selected according to line pressure, material and sealing.
Q1: Can the sensor sink directly to the bottom of the pool?
A1: Paste installation is generally not recommended, and sediment and sediment are prone to contamination and loss of representation.
Q2: What is the turbidity probe most afraid of?
A2: Optical window contamination, air bubbles, and large particle occlusion can all affect readings and should leave room for cleaning.
